Job Description:

The Plainfield Public Library District is seeking a self-starter with a passion for marketing and graphic design to serve in the newly expanded position of Communications Coordinator as we embark on several exciting endeavors, including a rebranding plan with our new name, Plainfield Area Public Library, and a full renovation and expansion of our building. This position supports the Library’s marketing efforts by generating content and promotional materials for print, web and social media outlets while adhering to the Library’s brand guidelines, strategic plan, mission and goals.

You will work closely with the Head of Community Engagement and Marketing to develop and implement marketing and brand strategies that will increase the community’s awareness of library services and programs while promoting the Library as a vibrant community resource. Responsibilities include:
*Developing and designing the quarterly print newsletter and all publicity materials.
*Creating innovative and engaging social media content.
*Representing the Library publicly at professional, educational and community events.
*Maintaining relationships with community organizations.

Job Requirements:

Requirements include:
*At least two years completed at a higher education institution.
*At least two years of relevant experience.
*The ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
*Knowledge of Canva is a plus.
*Understanding of current social media, marketing and design trends

This is a full-time position and includes a comprehensive benefits package including participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF). Hiring salary is between $20.78 and $22.37 per hour, depending on qualifications and education.
