Job Description:

Function: The Nutrition Services driver is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of food and supplies to district schools, maintenance of the district warehouse and inventories and proper maintenance of Nutrition Services vehicles. This may include the collection of daily cash receipts from each location and filling in for quadrant drivers as needed. Nutrition Services Coordinator

Job Requirements:


Performance Responsibilities:
General warehouse maintenance and inventory control.
Schedule and accept all Nutrition Services deliveries at the warehouse.
Organize and ready warehouse supplies needed for all quadrant drivers.
With directive from the Nutrition Services Coordinator, facilitate preventive maintenance on all vehicles including safety lane, oil changes and other maintenance as required. Rotate through department production kitchens weekly to assist quadrant drivers with deliveries and daily tasks.
Regularly work with quadrant drivers to deliver meals to all schools and transfer food or equipment around the district.
Assist with stocking shelves, rotation, pulling and issuing stock to production operations and satellite locations as needed.
Work collaboratively with quadrant drivers to ensure department needs are met.
Serve as permanent substitute for quadrant driver absences.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must possess a valid Illinois drivers license. Previous driving records will be subject to review and will weigh significantly in the selection process.
A minimum of one year experience operating a commercial vehicle.
Must be able to perform all duties associated with a physically strenuous position.
Must be able to effectively communicate with various constituencies in the district.
Knowledge of inventory management, pallet jack and forklift experience a plus.

Language Skills:

Must have the ability to comprehend simple instructions, read correspondence and memoranda and communicate effectively with all stakeholders. Must have the ability to communicate clearly written and verbally. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and complete time sensitive tasks and assignments.
