1. Provide ongoing counseling treatment services to individual children and/or families as identified.
2. Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.


1. Participate in staffing and the development of Intervention Support Plans.
2. Provide an attachment based play therapy for children that has an Intervention Support Plan.
3. Provide on-site engagement, support and assistance for children and staff as requested.
4. Build and support reflective practice with in the program support.
5. Provide programmatic consultation, implementing infant/Early childhood mental health strategies.
6. Maintain records of service, reports, etc. according to the policies of the program.
7. Participate in case consultations and reviews with the personnel of other programs of the Agency or with outside professional consultants.
8. Conduct clinical assessments (including occasional crisis interventions) and make appropriate recommendations for persons seeking mental health services.
9. Conduct parent support group of children that have Intervention Support Plans.
10. Provide specialized training to staff in the area of early childhood mental health.
11. Serve as a member of the Early Childhood Services Administrative Team.
12. Attend community meetings associated with mental health.
13. Attend designated IEP and IFSP staffing to support families
14. Accessing mental health resources in the community that includes Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) with the intent of delivering services to families in need of intensive supports

Job Requirements:

1. Master’s degree is required for this position with preferences in areas of social work or a minimum of a Master’s degree in a related field in human services. All degrees must come from a regionally accredited educational institution which has U.S. Department of Education approval.
2. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical training or experience in a community mental health and therapy children.
3. Licensure in the State of Illinois as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is required.
4. Receive or work toward the Illinois Association for Infant Mental Health (ILAIMH) Infant Early Childhood Mental Health Credential (IECMH-C).
5. Training and experience in providing clinical assessments (including crisis interventions) and providing outpatient psychotherapy with children, specifically birth to 5.
6. Demonstrated competence in providing culturally-sensitive interventions to individuals from all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups.
7. Strong organizational skills required, as well as the ability to coordinate and manage several tasks simultaneously.
8. Interest and skill in networking and providing community outreach services.
9. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and constructively with persons from all racial, diverse cultures, family systems, and social backgrounds.
10. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Teams.
11. Strong verbal and written communications skills.
12. Passage of complete background clearance, physical and Tuberculosis (TB) Test.
