Job Description:

Print Technology is the heart of our state-of-the-art and dynamic personalization process. We utilize complex and technologically advanced large format and digital printing equipment to personalize giftware, which needs highly trained and skilled technicians to maintain the equipment at optimal capacity. The Print Technician Manger manages a team of 3-4 Print Technicians, ensure that all printing equipment (over 50 devices) are properly maintained, prepared to run 24/7 during peak production schedules, organize on hand parts with reorder points properly assigned, establishes best practices for care of the equipment and provides guidance and training to daily machine operators.


· Ensures production equipment is maintained following schedule, functioning properly, and producing quality output with consistent color.

· Serves as the expert contact to trouble shoot & repair broken equipment.

· Help support and drive color standards across multiple formats.

· Prioritize daily equipment repair request for technician team based on production needs.

· Track work order tickets, with quarterly reviews and report on status of equipment.

· Identify opportunities to improve processes, organization, and workflow within the Print Technology Team

· Functions as the point of contact for outside service techs and scheduling service calls

· Review and keep status of current service contracts where applicable.

· Create and organize system for in house uptime kits and quantify necessary part on hand.

· Assists in all production equipment installation and advanced break fix training.

· Build in house training process, and establish criteria and levels for Pmall Certified Operator

· Trains additional production staff on proper usage, color, safety, and operator maintenance of equipment.

· Ability to communicate, create, and document best practice procedures at an expert level.

Job Requirements:


· Lead/manage a small team of 3-5 technicians.

· Ability to profile and expert knowledge to adjust color profiles, with experience working with textiles and large format UV printing devices and rips software (like Onyx and EFI)

· Working knowledge of digital printing equipment, production equipment, strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

· Ability to create and design service program, training programs and relative materials from scratch at a professional level.

· Strong organizational skill, attention to details and cleanliness of workplace and equipment.

· Ability to read, understand, follow, document, and write training manuals, safety instructions and maintenance procedures.

· Must be flexible and able to adapt to peak volume.

· Strong communication, time management, people management and computer skills.

· Ability to work extended hours including evenings, nights, and weekends during peak seasons. Especially during the November and December holiday season.


· Associates or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.

· 3-5 Years as a field technician, print technician, or reliant work experience fixing printing, binding, or cutting equipment required.

· G7 Color Certification Highly Preferred.
