Job Description:

This position is part of the Will County R3 Collaborative Grant that creates a network of legal, mental health, and case management services available to Will County residents through a partnership between eight community agencies and the County. This unique network is focused on restorative justice and healing in the community, with emphasis on communities primarily impacted by socioeconomic and racial disparities in the County.

Roles and Responsibilities
-Provides one-on-one case counseling services to determine participant needs
-Assists individuals and families to become familiar with the eligibility and application process required to access appropriate services: medical services, food programs, low-cost community clinics, and food pantries
-Mediate with state to insure receipt and maintenance of state benefits
-Provide referrals and assistance with accessing other safety net programs besides state administered benefits
-Prepare regular reports of the services provided, including grant-related reports.
-Organize 10 workshops on topics such as: resume writing, job interviews, healthy relationships, homeownership, repairing credit,etc.
-Organize and participate in regular Community Coordination meetings
-Update community center service information and referral contacts

Reporting and Supervision Structure
Report to the Executive Director/Program Manager of their respective center at least once a month

Job Requirements:

Experience and Qualifications
-Associate’s degree in human services or related field from an accredited community college, Bachelor’s preferred
-At least 2 years of work experience in their area of job responsibility preferred
-Bilingual preferred -- English/Spanish and possess the ability to work effectively with multicultural participants.
-Skilled in working with those in crisis or sensitive situations
