Job Description:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for most of the daily, monthly, and annual fiscal activity of the Foundation as outlined in the essential duties below. The Accounting Manager works closely with the Executive Director, board of directors, and outside financial partners to manage and track income and expenses, investments, and reporting requirements. The Accounting Manager will work with program staff to develop and track project budgets and grants. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the Executive Director in donor services. Fiscal integrity and confidentiality are vital components of this position. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the Executive Director to help fulfill the vision, mission, and objectives of the Community Foundation.

• Maintain a complicated fund accounting system (currently Fund Tracker Pro) for tracking donor funds, both endowed and non-endowed, including investments, administrative fees, grants, and contributions;
• Collect data for annual 990 and audit preparation;
• Maintain basic finance operations, including, but not limited to, Accounts Payable (expenses & grants), Accounts Receivable (donations), cash controls, payroll, balance sheet reconciliation, and filing systems;
• Prepare and analyze financial reports for board, staff, donors, government, and grantees;
• Operate and maintain fiscal-related software (also be prepared to recommend and implement upgrades and alternatives);
• Maintain and analyze grant and project budgets;
• Prepare, maintain, forecast, and analyze annual operating budget;
• Communicate and cooperate effectively (written & oral; electronic & manually) with staff, board, donors, contractors, committees, and financial institutions;
• Maintain organized work environment;
• Cooperate with staff for managing daily office operations, including phones, mail, and equipment;
• Maintain professional image, both at work and during non-work hours.

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance;
• Public or private company experience preparing financial statements;
• 5+ years experience in a program or project management position;
• Effective application of Quickbooks and MS Office suite including Outlook, Excel, Word & Powerpoint;
• Ability to comprehend and maintain complex fund tracking.


PTE: 12-15 hours/week, with flexibility for special events and meetings scheduled beyond the standard office hours
• Wage range = $18-$25/hour
• This position does not include health insurance
