Job Description:

Chief Engineer assists the Facilities Director to ensure repairs, maintenance, and preventative maintenance programs are completed as directed to keep the Hotel and convention Center in like-new condition. This includes regularly inspecting and repairing the physical building’s interior and exterior equipment, including but not limited to mechanical and electrical equipment, hazards, systems, and general engineering operation. Daily interfacing with staff and guest alike.

Job Requirements:

Two years of college or vocational training in electrical or mechanical engineering or 3 years in facilities maintenance, plant operations or engineering services for a hotel(s). Experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc. Must have ability to advance knowledge in these areas. Must know electrical wiring of 110V, 208V, 208 three phase, and 460 three phase. Must be able to troubleshoot and repair problems working with these voltages, devices and wiring. Must have basic working knowledge of pressure controls, basic tools, basic plumbing and electrical repairs. Must be able to understand and follow written instructions, able to read, write, understand and speak fluent English. Must have the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritize those tasks. Must possess excellent problem solving skills and have the ability to flex at a moment’s notice. Must be able to carry, at minimum, 50 pounds up and down a ladder, climb 6 flights of stairs within a 45 seconds, work an 8 hour shift on your feet, have 20/20 vision either with or without corrective lenses, work independently or with a team. Must possess excellent customer service skills, display proper radio etiquette, possess leadership qualities, organize time effectively and be motivated for success!
