Job Description:

National Tube Supply, one of the industry's leading metals service centers specializing in carbon and alloy tubular products located in University Park, is seeking an energetic, self-driven, hands-on individual to join our growing team as a Project Engineer.

In this newly created position, you will be responsible for engineering and technical projects involved across National Tube Supply’s five distribution centers totaling approximately half million square feet. You will schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aimed at assuring improved facilities, and process efficiency flow from conception to completion. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer you will:

• Prepare, develope solutions, schedule, coordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects
• Interactidaily with management, warehouse and office employees to interpret their needs and requirements in the development of process solutions
• Utilize data to prepare and drive solutions
• Work with national and local solutions providers to implement small and large projects
• Projects may include, equipment and process design, ERP system enhancements, facilities projects, maintenance projects, etc.
• Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
• Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
• Assign responsibilities and mentor the project team – both internal and external
• Cooperate and communicate effectively with the COO, local branch management and other project participants to aid and provide technical support
• Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions

Job Requirements:

Successful candidates will have a demonstrated background as a project engineer and/or a bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Mechanical engineering or Project Management. Proven ability to solve complex problems along with excellent communication skills, oral and written. Experience using AutoCAD along with advance use of MS Office. Familiarity with OSHA rules, industry regulation, best practices, lean, etc is a plus. Additionally, this position will require the ability to travel 20% of the time to other locations within the US and Canada.
