Job Description:

• Ensures production goals are met
• Examines product frequently to ensure that it meets customer quality specifications
• Pulls and inspects hourly run samples and notifies the Supervisor in the event quality standards are not being met
• May coordinate the assignment of crew members
• May provide training for new team members
• Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out – tag out rules and hearing and eye protection
• Must have the ability to listen to associates, value differences in people, build strong relationships, share business information openly and honestly, constructively challenge employees, advocate involvement and innovation and encourage growth and development in self and others.
• Oversees all mailing and packaging operations to assure compliance with postal or shipping regulations and customer requirements
• Coordinates version run sequence and production with Data team and Shift Supervisor to assure completion of pool according to job schedule
• Responsible for accurate and complete daily records (i.e., label count verification, run order update, etc.)
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned
Technical Aspects:
• Makes ready and operates pockets, strappers, stackers, labelers, cameras, ink jet printers, and auxiliary department equipment in accordance with job ticket instructions and schedule requirements.
• Troubleshoots problems to maintain quality standards and keep Comail line equipment in running condition – request maintenance assistance as required.
• Regularly during run, checks book and label quality and corrects printing as necessary to maintain department quality standards and postal requirements.
• Maintains in operation condition all mailing and auxiliary equipment through cleaning, lubrications and adjustment. Performs repair to equipment as needed (e.g. change belts, replace lugs in chains, etc.)

Job Requirements:

Must be able to work in a team environment.
Must be able to give instructions on training, trouble shooting, housekeeping, and safety for all crew members.
Must be able to work in a diverse environment, be a good communicator and be capable of making good business decisions.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to read, write, and interpret written instructions.
Ability to operate computers.
Ability to do basic mathematics and have sound mathematical reasoning.
Ability to work a 12 hour/4 crew, rotating shift schedule, including weekends and overtime.
Must have flexibility to work in other areas as assigned.
