Job Description:

Title: TEAP Specialist
Hours: Tuesday 10am -7pm, Wednesday 8am -12pm & Thursday 10am -7pm
Reports to: Wellness Manger

Responsible to develop and facilitate the Center’s alcohol, drug and tobacco prevention program. Educates and counsels students to reduce and prevent drug-related separations from the program. Develops individualized case management plans to enhance student retention and success. Responsible for the management and supervision Advanced College Training program and all advanced training programs. Makes enrollment determinations based on adherence to DOL policy and individual judgment about applicant’s suitability and eligibility. Provides students with counseling related to higher education and advanced training and ensuring students make progress and advance in the program. Responsible for providing individualized case management, student accountability and support services coordination for non-residential students. Serves as main liaison between local colleges and universities. Ensures confidentiality of sensitive information and compliance with all HIPAA laws.

Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data.
Develops and implements alcohol, drug and tobacco prevention activities and integrates services into Center’s programmatic functions.
Develops and coordinates community resources for educating students on substance use and abuse.
Administers Center’s drug testing program to promote a drug-free environment.
Ensures Center maintains full enrollment of the Advanced College Training program and all advanced training programs.
Develops and maintains effective relationships with community and business partners resulting in student benefit and success.
Responsible for the marketing and recruitment of all advanced training programs. This includes establishing positive connections with staff at other Job Corps centers and conducting presentations for students as well as employers in the community.
Assists students with personal and family needs and requirements to include transportation, housing, childcare, social services, etc.
Conducts home visits and AWOL retrieval.
Monitors and provides guidance on career success skills and career transition activities.
Conducts weekly non-resident student meetings/special program activities.
Active member on case management and success teams to ensure student success in the program.
Assists with Career Development and Individual Student Placement Plan development.
May transport students to and from Center.
Monitors student progress and posts pertinent data to the ePCDP.
Participates in CSSR/Assessment activities.
Assists with CDSS programming to include Career Preparation, Career Development and Career Transition activities.

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. A minimum of one year experience in drug/alcohol counseling or related field required. Valid In-State Certification in Substance Abuse Counseling/Prevention required. A valid in-State Driver’s License required.
