Job Description:

The Community Health Educator will be responsible for all activities required by the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Grant. This position will work closely with other program Community Health Educators, the Valley View School District teachers and administration to coordinate and implement evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention programs in Bolingbrook Schools. They will also assist with other program related activities such as the community resource guide, the Community Advisory Group, and the Youth Leadership Council. This position will be required to attend trainings related to the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program. Other responsibilities include projects in other community health programs which could include All Our Kids Network, Chronic Disease & School Health and/or Tobacco Control and Prevention programs. Will be required to work an occasional evening or weekend.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
Community Health Educator I: An accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Health Sciences, Health and Physical Education, Community Health, Community Health Education, Public Health, Public Health Education, School Health.

Community Health Educator II: An accredited Master’s Degree in Science, Health Science, Health and Physical Education, Community Health, Community Health Education, Public Health, Public Health Education, School Health or related field. Or Bachelor’s Degree in these areas of study with two (2) years related experience.

Verification of employment eligibility or U.S. Citizenship. Must possess a valid Illinois Driver's License and minimum auto liability insurance.

Desired Qualifications:
Experience with classroom management. Strong presentation skills. Strong knowledge of HIV and STD's. Bilingual in Spanish.
