Position Title: Member Services Specialist
Department: Agent Care/Member Services
Reports To: Manager of New Business
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

The Member Services Specialist is expected to provide excellent customer service on every call and correspondence received from our members, agents and interested parties. Effective communication, active listening and decision-making skills are required to effectively provide quality service.
• This position is responsible for assisting members with policy information, payment processes, beneficiary/ownership changes, billing questions, personal information changes, and paperwork/report processing.
• Knowledge and comprehension of term, whole life and universal life products and policies is a plus.
• The representative will be expected to provide accurate and caring service in an efficient manner to members and agents.
• Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree and one year of experience in life insurance; or a combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
Math Ability:
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
• In order to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of the job, one must possess the following computer and program skills: Proficient in Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook required.
